Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid are two of the most senior MPs to quit the government. They are saying that they can no longer tolerate the standards, the integrity of the government led by Boris Johnson. This has been developing now for some time. Last month, of course, 148 of Mr. Johnson's own conservative members of the House of Commons and Lords voted against him.
Now, when you look at the British Parliament to think 148 of the people sitting behind him voted to have him gone. He survived that, though, but now it's his own cabinet. They are saying enough is enough . The senior treasurer, as you say, the senior the secretary of health and the senior law officer in the last 12 hours have all said this is untenable. We're out of here. So I can't see Boris Johnson surviving this.
Mr. Prime minister got himself 12 months immunity, of course, once he survived that
vote of confidence, they call it last month. But it gets to a situation where
he was due to release an important economic statement next week with the Treasurer,
Rishi Sunak. Now that's all in chaos. It gets to a point where the government
is in such a chaotic state and so sick that you'd imagine even Boris Johnson's,
some of his own supporters would be saying, this can't go on. This is actually
quite sick.
